President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Angelo has been president and CEO of Anaconda Mining, a Toronto Stock Exchange listed company, since September 2010, and has been a director since November 2009. Under his guidance, Anaconda has expanded its land package ten-fold at its flag ship asset, the Point Rousse Project, on the Ming’s Bight Peninsula in Newfoundland, acquired three additional projects close to Point Rousse, cleaned up the balance sheet of the company and built a sustainable, profitable company. Prior to joining the Anaconda team, Dustin served as CFO of Elgin Mining Inc. (formerly known as Phoenix Coal Inc., a TSX-listed resource company) where he was integral in the growth of the organization from a private enterprise to a publicly-listed company from August 2006 to November 2010; as vice-president of MHI Energy Partners (an energy-focused private equity fund) from 2005 to 2006, and; as a Principal at New York City’s Waller Capital Corporation (a boutique investment bank focused on mergers and acquisitions) from 1997 to 2005. Mr. Angelo was also a founding member and director of North American Limestone Corporation (a private developer and operator of limestone quarries in the United States). Dustin earned a BSBA in Accounting and International Business from Georgetown University and a MBA from the Columbia Business School. He is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in the state of Kentucky.
Mr. Fitzgerald was a Director and officer of Orex since December 15, 2016. From August 2016 to January 2017, Mr. Fitzgerald was the Managing Director in the Investment Banking Department of Gravitas Securities Inc. of Toronto. Mr. Fitzgerald was the Co-Founder of Stope Capital Advisors, Inc. in 2012, a private Canadian company engaged in merchant banking transactions in the mining, energy and agriculture sectors. Mr. Fitzgerald has been a director of the NASDAQ-listed Daystar Technologies Inc. from 2010 to 2013 and since May 2015 has been a director of Epcylon Technologies Inc. Mr. Fitzgerald obtained his B.A. and MSc. in Economics from the London School of Economics and M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Byron has more than 30 years of domestic and international experience in field work, research, and senior management experience in gold, base-metal, magmatic nickel & PGE, diamond, and gemstone exploration, spanning employment within the mineral exploration industry and government. Dr. Byron was Vice-President, Exploration of Aurora Platinum Corp. until its acquisition by FNX Mining in 2005. As the initial Vice-President, Exploration of Lake Shore Gold he directed expansion of their exploration projects in the Timmins Gold Camp and oversaw the growth of the Timmins West deposit to more than 1.2 million ounces of gold. In 2008, Dr. Byron joined Nighthawk Gold Corp. and began developing projects in the Northwest Territories. As director and Chief Geologist he supervised their expansion including the acquisition and advancement of the former producing Colomac Gold mine. Dr. Byron was one of five co-founders and directors of Falco Resources Ltd, and served as Vice-President, Exploration from its inception in 2010 until his resignation in May 2015. Dr. Byron is attributed with the rediscovery of the Horne 5 deposit - Falco’s premier asset. Dr. Byron is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Nighthawk Gold Corp and he is currently director of Brionor Resources Inc., X-Terra Resources Inc. and Nighthawk Gold Corp., companies listed on the TSXV. Dr. Byron also served as Vice President of Exploration of Stronghold Metals Inc. (2010) and President and Chief Executive Officer of Nighthawk Gold Corp. (formerly Merc International Minerals) (September 2008 to September 2010). Dr. Byron is a professional geoscientist registered in Ontario and the Northwest Territories, and holds a B.Sc. in Geology from Geneseo State University, New York (1983), a M.Sc. in Geology from Laurentian University in Sudbury (1990) and a Ph.D. in Geology from Carleton University in Ottawa (1999).
Mr. Raza is an Audit Partner at MNP LLP and National Director of the firm's public companies practice. Mr. Raza has over 10 years of experience in professional practice, and has specialized in providing assistance to companies in the public markets and in helping private companies become public either through direct IPOs or through reverse mergers. A significant portion of his practice is in the mining and oil and gas sectors, ranging from exploration stage to production. As one of MNP's IFRS thought leaders, he assisted a number of mining companies in the United States and Canada with their IFRS issues. He is currently also a director of White Gold Corp and is a member of CPA Canada and PDAC's mining task force.
Mr. Lawrick has extensive executive management experience in the mining and mineral exploration sector. Mr. Lawrick is currently the President & CEO of Brionor Resources Inc., a TSXV listed precious metals exploration company, as well as the Managing Director of Thorsen-Fordyce Merchant Capital Inc., a private Toronto based merchant bank focused principally on the mineral industry. Previously, he held the position of President of Colorado Minerals Inc. from its inception in October 2005 to its merger with Anaconda Corp. in April 2007. Mr. Lawrick acted as Chief Executive Officer (from January 2007) and President (from January 2008) of Anaconda until September 21, 2010 and has served as an officer and/or director of several private and public mining and mineral exploration companies, including Volta Resources Inc. (TSX), Franconia Minerals Corporation (TSX), Brionor Resources Inc. (formerly Normabec Mining Resources Ltd.) (TSXV), and Serengeti Resources Inc. (TSXV). Mr. Lawrick holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (BCOM) from the University of Calgary.
Mr. Levesque is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA). Mr. Levesque has was involved in Orex for 28 years, as director, President, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, management contractor and in the management of exploration programs.
(Note: The Company announced the resignation of Mr. Kevin Bullock from the Board of Directors effective March 31, 2018, due to other board conflicts. Mr. Bullock will remain engaged with the Company in a technical advisory role, advising management and the Board on various technical matters as it progresses its business plan of growth at the Point Rousse Project in Newfoundland and the Goldboro Gold Project in Nova Scotia.)
Mr. Bullock is a registered Professional Mining Engineer in the Province of Ontario. Mr. Bullock was previously the Corporate Development Advisor for B2Gold Corp. from January 2014 to December 2014 and was Volta Resources Inc.’s President and Chief Executive Officer and was the founding President and Chief Executive Officer of Goldcrest Resources (a Volta predecessor company) since its inception in 2002. Mr. Bullock was instrumental in the growth of Volta from a shell company through to the ultimate sale of the company to B2Gold Corp. at the end of 2013. In addition, he was President & Chief Executive Officer of Lindsay Mine Services Ltd. until the end of 2015 and currently serves on the boards of directors of B2Gold Corp., Golden Reign Resources Ltd. New Millennium Iron Corp. and Torrent Capital Ltd, where he serves as Chairman. Mr. Bullock has over 30 years of experience, at senior levels, in mining exploration, mine development and mine operations. Mr. Bullock has a broad knowledge base in the mineral industry and has completed several exploration and mining projects, both in North America and abroad, including projects in Mexico, Sweden, Argentina, Nicaragua and West Africa, where he was the general manager of IAMGOLD Corporation. Throughout his career, Mr. Bullock has been involved in projects from inception through exploration to development and production.
